On the global level, the platform’s capabilities along with components can be represented like this: Here, the Gateway serves as a signaling translator, from WebRTC to SIP; additionally, it authorizes SDKs on the Voximplant cloud. Thus, the gateway is used by all Voximplant SDKs which makes this component crucial for their proper operation. SBC stands for Session Border Controller, it’s a mechanism for signalization management for SIP-calls. It also connects non-compatible signaling protocols and media streams, allowing devices/softphones to communicate effectively no matter what protocols they use by default. The platform itself consists of three main blocks: VoxEngine, HTTP API, and Web/Mobile SDKs. Each block contains its unique modules and/or capabilities, learn what they are exactly.
